Ghostware the movie is a new sci-fi horror film, based on my novel “The Afternoon When She Died,” which sold 35,000 copies in Dutch (De Middag Dat Ze Stierf) and English languages. The story follows Maya Brown, a female scientist who joins her mysterious new boyfriend, Tor Berg, on a mission to save the world from the evil Ghostware — an AI machine that materializes the dead. The film promises to be full of adventure, romance, fantasy, and fantastical creatures.
I am excited to share that I am the writer, director, and producer of this film, which will be produced by Golden Way Media Films and shot on location in the UK.
Background: As an MA student at Royal Holloway University of London in 2017, I took on a challenging course that required me to create a screenplay and package it into a feature film. After six long months of brainstorming, I finally came up with the perfect name for my masterpiece — Ghostware. My advisor, the award-winning producer Gillian Gordon, was impressed with my choice and story and gave it the green light out of 350 other names.
After completing my master’s degree in film and TV production, I set out to make Ghostware a reality. I pitched my feature film project to several executive producers and film studios in Hollywood, including Universal Studios, and documented every step of my journey on social media. My project gained a lot of attention, and some of my cast and crew stood by me and supported the film.
However, the road to making my dream a reality was bumpy. I spent months interviewing and casting 200 actors from London, only to face a setback when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Some cast members were hesitant to get vaccinated, and I couldn’t take the risk of having unvaccinated actors on set. This led to my investor backing out, leaving me without the financial support I needed to bring Ghostware to life.
Despite this, I didn’t give up on my dream. I continued to pitch to production companies in Europe and North America, but nothing seemed to be working out. However, I didn’t let this discourage me, and instead, I shifted my focus to making money so I could finance the film myself.
I secured distribution deals in pre-production process for Ghostware in North America, Europe, Australia, and South Africa. I have also secured a German post-production company in Australia to take over the post-production. With the COVID-19 pandemic behind us, I’m back on track to making my dream a reality. I’m working tirelessly to make money and secure the funding I need to bring Ghostware to life.
My journey as a producer and filmmaker is one of determination, perseverance, and resilience. I’ve faced countless challenges, but I’ve never given up on my dream. Ghostware may have hit some roadblocks, but with my unwavering determination, it’s only a matter of time before my masterpiece is brought to life on the big screen.
I am thrilled to have a unique film marketing and transmedia plan for Ghostware. This film holds a special place in my heart, and I am incredibly grateful to have a dedicated cast and crew who are just as passionate about bringing it to life as I am.
Their unwavering support and commitment have been invaluable, and I know that we can make this project a success together. Ghostware is not just a film; it’s a labor of love that has taken years of hard work and dedication to get this far.
I’m excited to share this project with the world, and my marketing and transmedia plan will ensure that it reaches a wider audience than ever before. This film is more than just a story; it’s an experience that will engage and captivate audiences in ways they never thought possible.
I am truly grateful for this opportunity to bring Ghostware to life, and I know that with my team’s help, we will make it a success that will be remembered for years to come.
